Paul Anthony Kelly – The Actor Playing JFK Jr. in Love Story

Who Is Paul Anthony Kelly, the Actor Playing JFK Jr. in FX’s *Love Story*?

Paul Anthony Kelly is a Canadian model and actor best known for playing John F. Kennedy Jr. in FX’s *Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette*. Multiple reports describe that role as his onscreen debut and his first major acting break. Born on October 1, 1988, in Port McNicoll, Ontario, Canada, he is 37 years old as of 2026.

The role places him at the center of a high-profile anthology series from producer Ryan Murphy, which also stars Sarah Pidgeon as Carolyn Bessette. Because Kelly had no prior professional acting experience, his casting drew considerable attention and reshaped public interest in his background, from his modeling years to his personal life.

According to reporting, Kelly was chosen from around 1,000 actors considered for the part. He reportedly auditioned for about 13 years before landing the role, and several outlets frame it as a late breakthrough after many rejections. Despite his experience in front of the camera, he entered acting without formal credits. That combination—a familiar face in fashion but a newcomer in film—drove much of the early curiosity about him.
