Partner Details: What the Record Shows
In 2025 reporting, Teasdale was described as having a non-binary partner (Wikipedia). One detailed interview from The Cut said she met her partner, Lava La Rue, at a music festival in Portugal in 2021 (The Cut). Another 2025 article by The Guardian noted she prefers to keep the partner’s identity private (The Guardian). Earlier biographical material indicates she had been in a relationship with bandmate Douglas Richards from 2013 to 2019 (Famous Birthdays).
Teasdale has come out as queer in later interviews and profiles. The Guardian‘s 2025 coverage noted that before this relationship, she had believed she was straight. Current public reporting therefore identifies her as queer and in a relationship with a non-binary partner.
No source provides a legally verified name for Teasdale’s current partner. The identity remains unconfirmed beyond Teasdale’s own measured disclosures.

Why Rhian Teasdale’s Privacy Matters
Despite public curiosity about partners and physique, Teasdale has maintained a personal boundary, revealing only what she chooses in interviews. This aligns with the modern musician approach to selective vulnerability, seen in artists like Boygenius and Phoebe Bridgers. Wet Leg’s fast rise from the Isle of Wight to global stages is rare in the streaming era, and Teasdale’s dry humor and fashion sense have made her a style icon.
The band’s 2025 era included the album Moisturizer, which one 2026 music review called a continuation of their confident, witty sound. Teasdale continues to tour and record with Wet Leg, and further interviews may reveal more personal details about relationships and potential solo projects or fashion collaborations.
